The immortal Eddie Shaw was not just a blues staple in Chicagoland, where he once led Howlin’ Wolf’s band. Here in Ohio, Third Street’s stomping grounds, Eddie found a home away from home. For decades, he and his Wolf Pack band could be seen in the best blues clubs in the area.
In Eddie’s twilight time, he was still coming to Ohio. In July of 2015, Third Street recorded his appearance at a festival in Waterville, our label’s HQ, with his son Vaan backing him up on his famous triple-neck guitar. We lost Eddie in January of 2018, and the Waterville recording is thought to be the last live set Eddie ever put to tape.
