“The blues is gospel in a mini-skirt.”

 

That’s how drummer Hollywood Mike Darby summed up his band’s perspective on the music they play. Hearing Mike’s declaration, his bandmates, with their roots in Sunday morning gospel, suddenly sprouted smiles that said volumes about their Saturday nights on stage.

That's the kind of attitude, vibes, and depth you'll find on the debut release by The Good The Bad And The Blues. They logged a full nine years on the circuit before finally putting their sound down on a studio album. Leader and singer Aayan Naim penned about half the record, including a get-up-and-shake-it winner called "I've Been Down." Johnny Rawls helped out with another six tunes, and the band claims the great Tyrone Davis classic "Turn Back The Hands Of Time" for the twenty-first century.
